From isolation to hope 💛

Just weeks ago, William Owino Ongoro was facing life alone in Ombeyi battling hypertension, memory lapses, exhaustion, and deep discouragement. What seemed impossible, even something as simple as a mattress, became a life-changing gift through LOMAMO’s care.

Within two weeks, William received nutrition support, healthcare, encouragement, and a double mattress that restored comfort and dignity to his daily life. But even more than that, he experienced the love of Christ in action, gave his life to Jesus, and received a Luo Bible.

“LOMAMO gave me a shoulder to lean on during my low moments.”

William’s story is a beautiful reminder that when we meet both physical and spiritual needs with compassion, lives are transformed. Thank you for making stories like his possible.

When the Homa Bay office opened in January, our team didn't have their vehicle yet. Delays kept pushing the date. So they rented motorcycles because the families who needed care couldn't wait.
At the end of March, the vehicle finally arrived.
You made this happen. Almost two years of faithfulness, patience, and prayer. A new office. A team that refused to slow down. And now, a vehicle that gives them the reach to match their heart for this work.
God's timing is still good. Your faithfulness bore fruit.

Wayne just wanted to play with his friends again.
For a long time, that felt impossible. After countless failed diagnoses and worsening health, this young boy sat in a hospital bed crying, afraid he wouldn't survive.

Then LOMAMO Foundation showed up. 💛

With medical care and nutrition support, Wayne's story changed. By the time he was discharged, he had gained weight to 115 lbs and was ready to go back to school.

Today? He's running, laughing, and dreaming big.

Some things you have to see to understand. Last month our board members traveled to Kenya to walk alongside the LOMAMO care team and witness the work firsthand. 🇰🇪

They met Rose Akinyi Oluoch, a widow who had lost everything and was battling tuberculosis of the spine after stopping her medication in deep despair. For three months, the LOMAMO team visited her faithfully—bringing food, care, encouragement, and prayer.

This week Rose graduated from the program, smiling and walking on her own again. Her health restored. Her faith renewed.

While in Kenya, our partners packed food boxes with the team, visited patients, and began each day in prayer—reminded that this work is deeply human and rooted in hope.

Because of your support, lives like Rose’s are being restored. ❤️

Elizabeth Akinyi is a mother—and the sole provider for her children.

A few months ago, she became seriously ill. With no income and no way to pay for care, her children could only watch and hope their mother would recover.

Then LOMAMO opened its doors in Homa Bay.

Elizabeth connected with the team just as the program was beginning. Since then, she’s been receiving medical care, weekly food support, counseling, and the steady presence of people walking alongside her.

She’s still recovering—but she is recovering.

And her children still have their mother.

When a parent stays in the family, everything connected to them stays intact. Children stay in school. They stay at home. They grow up knowing they are cared for.

The vehicle we’re waiting for in Homa Bay still hasn’t arrived. So our team found another way.

Every day they rent motorcycles to reach patients in the slums — delivering food, medical care, counseling, and hope.
