Congratulations to President General Virginia “Ginnie” Sebastian Storage on being named to Forbes’ 2026 50 Over 50: Impact list! 🇺🇸❤️

President General Storage has devoted decades of service and leadership to the Daughters of the American Revolution, and we are thrilled to see that dedication recognized nationally.

As Forbes highlights, her administration is working to grow DAR membership while helping bring greater attention to women of color, Indigenous women, and other historically underdocumented family lines connected to the American Revolution. This important research helps preserve a fuller picture of our nation’s history and gives more women the opportunity to discover, document, and honor their Revolutionary heritage.

DAR brings women together through a shared connection to the people and stories of the American Revolution, and every Patriot story deserves the opportunity to be researched, preserved, and remembered.

The Wabash Chapter proudly congratulates President General Storage on this outstanding recognition! ❤️🤍💙

Today, Forbes published their 2026 “50 Over 50” list and we are excited to announce DAR’s very own President General Ginnie Sebastian Storage featured in the “Impact” category with fellow “Changemakers leaving the world a little better than they found it.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/maggiemcgrath/2026/08/11/2026-50-over-50-impact/

The Forbes 50 Over 50 highlights women proving that leadership, innovation and influence have no age limit. The women on the list, divided into categories: impact, investment, innovation and lifestyle, are actively leading organizations, building businesses, advancing scientific discovery, shaping public policy, creating cultural impact or driving social change. They are mission-minded entrepreneurs and leaders tackling the world’s most pressing problems with a powerful combination of empathy, expertise and experience.
Congratulations, DAR President General Ginnie Storage!

I would like to attend the graveside service for Corporal Thurman Saturday morning. Are other DAR members interested?

Tomorrow’s the day we bring Cpl Jackie Thurman home. He will depart Honolulu, Hawaii around 1130pm local time tonight. His flight will land in Dallas before continuing on to St Louis where he is scheduled to land at around 245pm tomorrow.

After the Dignified transfer by the United States Army into our care we will bring Cpl Thurman back to Norris City.

We will travel across Interstate 64 and exit at the US 45 Mill Shoals/Fairfield ramp (Exit 110) and travel south on US 45 to Norris City.

We will post updates throughout the day on the procession and approximate time of arrival in Norris City for those wishing to pay their respects along the way.

So honored.

The Wabash Chapter, NSDAR was honored to assist with decorations and hospitality for the District VII Spring Meeting.

Our members created custom welcome signage, name tags, and thoughtfully prepared grab bags for attendees. Each bag included meeting essentials such as a notepad, pen, mints, and chocolates, small details intended to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

It was a privilege to serve and support our fellow Daughters.

The Wabash Chapter, NSDAR was pleased to attend the District VII Spring Meeting, where Illinois State Regent Marria Blinn shared updates on her state project, the Liberty Education Plaza.

This initiative, located next to the Flag Day Monument in Batavia, Illinois, promotes DAR’s core values of historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

Chapter Regent Allison Brooks, Registrar Barbara Karger, and member Janet Parks represented the Wabash Chapter during the meeting.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support the work of the Illinois State Organization and to gather with fellow Daughters in service.
