Congratulations to our newest Yard of the Week! Take a look at 1409 Douglas Drive, owned by Michael and Joan Ward. They have lived in the neighborhood for thirty-seven years, and we enjoy seeing their beautifully maintained lawn and landscaping! Thank you, neighbors, for making your voices heard!

Last week, we held our Special Meeting to vote on the Amended and Restated Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Cool Creek Estates and the Amended and Restated Code of By-Laws for Cool Creek Civic Association, Inc.

The proposed amendments were approved by a strong majority of those who participated in the vote. Of the votes cast, 87.2% were in favor of approval, while 9.7% voted against the proposal. The number of affirmative votes also represented a majority of all homeowners in the association, satisfying the approval requirement for adoption of the amended documents.

Overall, 41% of homeowners did not participate in the vote.

The Board will be sending a formal notification by mail to all homeowners to ensure everyone receives official notice of the results.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in this important process. We look forward to continuing to work together to keep Cool Creek Estates the wonderful place to live that we all enjoy.

Independence Day is almost here, and we need your opinions! July 4th falls on a Saturday this year, and that means CarmelFest and the Carmel parade will take place the same morning we would normally plan our neighborhood bike parade. We're planning to scale back either way, but we want to get your feedback before we move forward. Which option do you prefer?

A. We move forward with a scaled-back version of the bike parade at 9am on the 4th, giving residents time to get to the Carmel parade at 10:30. We would not have the bounce house this year, but would have the parade, hand out prizes, and offer some candy at the end for the kiddos.

B. We cancel the event for this year only so it doesn't compete with the city's festivities and so families don't have to rush from our parade to make it to the big parade.

C. Other. Please specify. (Also, please know that moving it to a different weekend wasn't feasible, which is why it wasn't mentioned as an option here.)

Either option will allow the neighborhood to save our resources and help ensure families can participate in Carmel's holiday events. No matter what, this is a temporary solution for this year only. We'll plan to be back to our traditional parade and activities next year! Thank you for your input!

It's time for our first Yard of the Week Award! Congrats to Dee & Bob Greenman at 536 High Dr. The Greenman are 33 year CCE residents. They have transformed the corner garden where diseased spruce trees were removed into a lovely floral garden with purple bee balm, lavender allium, raspberry cone flowers & red asiatic lilies. Well-kept yard with healthy turf. Thanks for keeping our neighborhood looking beautiful!

Neighbors: we want to make you aware of a house fire in the neighborhood early this morning. Fortunately, the homeowners, Kelly and Brent Anderson, were able to make it safely out of the home, along with their pets. There may still be some traffic diversions on High Drive and 126th. Please use caution when entering or exiting the neighborhood, as the fire department is still on the scene. We are thankful the Anderson family is safe this morning, and will be thinking of them in the days and months ahead.
