What a full circle moment. Today, some of our board members and champions got to tour Dr. Pollock’s lab at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center in downtown Indianapolis.

To be able to meet the doctors, scientists and students who are dedicated to researching glioblastoma brain tumors in children and adults was one of the most fulfilling experiences many of us have ever had.

They welcomed us with open arms and called us family, because without us they can’t continue their crucial research.

And without our community supporting our mission we couldn’t fundraise and make a difference in the world at large, but specifically, our own backyard.

Two of the patients they told us about today we’re both children who had been patients at the Riley Children's hospital and have since passed away. Seeing their young faces, and seeing how respectful, conscientious and gracious, these researchers are with the small segments of brain tumor that they get, was extremely powerful.

It’s why we do what we do and was a very uplifting, tangible reminder of why we have to continue. Thank you to every person reading this who has supported us with their time their money or even simply their well wishes. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 🩷🩶🩷🩶

The final numbers are in, and we are blown away!

When we launched the Champions of Hope campaign last month, our incredible Champions put their whole hearts into it—sharing their stories, rallying their networks, and fighting fiercely to honor Beth’s (and many others') legacy. Thanks to their relentless energy and your immense generosity, we raised an incredible $10,620 for Glioblastoma research!

Every single dollar raised tells a story of a community coming together to change the narrative for families facing this diagnosis. Look at how you all showed up:

🌎 Our Collective Impact:

Total Raised: $10,620
Total Donations: 110 (105 online, 5 checks)
Unique Donors: 106 incredible people joined our mission!

🩶🧠THIS is why we are here.

This is why we do what we do.

Because not 12 hours into our Champions of Hope campaign, we're hearing from our community. We received this message today from a woman who lost her husband to Glioblastoma 25 years ago.

Read that again: 25 years. It is a reminder that for too long, the story of this disease hasn't changed enough. But that is exactly what we are working to fix. We aren't just "raising awareness" this May—we are funding the specific, high-level research at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center that is designed to break that 25-year cycle.

When you support a Champion of Hope, you are funding the scientists who are outsmarting the blood-brain barrier and sequencing tumors to find potential cures. You are helping us ensure that 25 years from now, the conversation looks entirely different.

Thank you for sharing your stories with us. We hear you, and we are fighting for you. 🎗️

May is a special month in Indiana. 🏁 But for those of us who loved Beth, it’s a month that holds an even deeper meaning: It is Brain Cancer Awareness Month. 🎗️🧠

Beth was the kind of person who didn't just walk into a room; she lit it up. She loved the energy of a live musical, the drama of a great stage show, and the thrill of a Hoosier win. She had a sense of humor that could make anyone smile and a devotion to her family that was second to none.

Glioblastoma is an aggressive, relentless disease that tries to steal those moments. It doesn’t care about theater tickets, sports schedules, or the time we have left with the people we love. It is a diagnosis that stops everything in its tracks.

Today, in honor of Beth’s spirit, we are officially launching our inaugural "Champions of Hope" campaign.

This month, our Champions have pledged to raise a collective $25,000 —a goal that goes directly to the Joanne I. Carey Glioblastoma Research Fund at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Why the "Champions of Hope"?

Because we refuse to let the story end with the diagnosis. We are funding the world-class science at Indiana University that gives families more time for the things Beth loved. Your support fuels:

🧬 Tumor Sequencing: A $400-per-sample process that creates a genetic roadmap for treatment.
🧠 Breaking the Barrier: Research into how to get life-saving medicine through the brain’s natural defenses.
📚 A World-First Database: Building a library of patient data in Indy that doesn’t exist anywhere else on the planet.

Our goal is to turn "impossible" into "treatable" through surgical and immunotherapy breakthroughs. We want the next family to have more seasons, more shows, and more hope.

🎗️🧠 Did you know May is brain cancer awareness month?? This year, roughly 25,000 Americans will be diagnosed with brain cancer. HELP US FIGHT FOR A CURE.

This May, the Beth Boone Buech Foundation is taking a massive leap forward. We are officially launching our Champions of Hope campaign, and we need YOU to lead the charge!

We have partnered with the IU Simon Cancer Center, and 100% of the funds raised by our Champions will go directly to the Joanne I Carey Glioblastoma Research Fund. This isn't just a donation; it’s the "fuel" that helps labs like Dr. Karen Pollok’s develop the models needed for life-saving clinical trials.

What does it mean to be a Champion?
• The Goal: Strive to raise $2,000 during the month of May. (Don’t worry—every dollar is a win, and we provide the roadmap to get you there!)
• The Voice: Share weekly educational facts (that we provide!) to spread awareness about Glioblastoma.
• The Gear: Rock your official Foundation-provided gear and name badge to spark conversations.

Whether you are here in Central Indiana or want to champion this cause from across the country—we want you on the team.
