We are back for Fall 2021!

Is your player interested in playing softball this fall? Come play for the Mavericks!

Mavericks fall ball teams are offered to girls in the Monterey Peninsula community who want to develop their softball skills at a more advanced level. The Mavericks program exposes players to higher level tournaments playing with teammates who are serious about competing and improving.

The program extends our strong recreational community values, including sportsmanship, camaraderie, and playing with class, into a more advanced setting. Our goal is to offer a competitive travel program that supports personal growth for our players. We seek to encourage, inspire, and provide an opportunity for participants to grow both as softball players and as young women.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

We will be fielding ONE team in each division (10U, 12U, 14U, 16U). Additional teams may be fielded based on player interest, coach availability and field availability. Teams will be formed based on the Mavericks volunteer board and coaches’ assessment of players at tryouts.

Expect teams to have 2-3 practices per week.

Coaches will work with fall multi-sport athletes to determine how to manage individual situations and commitments.

9/11-12 Fall Kick Off @ Salinas
9/25-26 Swing for a Cure @ Salinas
10/9-10 Briski @ Las Gatos (currently unconfirmed; no 16u)
10/16-17 Halloween @ Salinas
11/6-7 Harvest HoeDown @ Salinas

*Tournaments dates are subject to change based on rainouts and/or tournament director discretion. Changes will be communicated to teams as soon as available.

COSTS

Costs for the season are expected to be from $450 - $500 per player. Costs include tournament entry fees, insurance, 2 jerseys, and 2 pairs of socks. Costs do not include pants, hotel/travel expenses, spectator entry fees.

Free Saturday workouts July 17th and July 24th

10:00-11:30 a.m. 10u
12:00-1:30 p.m. 12u
2:00-3:30 p.m. 14u / 16u

Tryouts* on Saturday, July 31st

10:00-10:30 a.m. 10u Pitchers and Catchers
10:30 a.m. - Noon 10u All Positions

12:00-12:30 p.m. 12u Pitchers and Catchers
12:30-2:00 p.m. 12u All Positions

2:00-2:30 p.m. 14u / 16u Pitchers and Catchers
2:30-4:00 p.m. 14u / 16u All Positions

*If a player is unable to attend tryouts but would like to be considered for a team, the player MUST attend at least one workout session and contact either Aimee Dahle (President), Gino Mangiapane (Vice President), or Craig Cox (Mavericks Director) ahead of time to coordinate.

Carmel Community Girls Softball and Mavericks fastpitch would like to send our thoughts, prayers and love to our families currently displaced due to the River and Carmel Fires. We would also like to extend those prayers to the first responders working hard to get these fires under control, including those who are members of our softball community. And just like that, our fall season has come to an end! ☹️ Congratulations to Herro 10U, Tucker 12U, and Gibbs 12U on a season well played! And a special congratulations to Gibbs 12U on their 1st place win at the Monica Abbott!
We hope to see all these young athletes back on the fields next year!

As Saturday comes to an end, I can imagine that our ladies are crawling into bed with dreams of Sunday fun on the fields! Game times are posted for the last time this season 😭 Sleep well Mavericks families and good luck tomorrow!

Come on out to Salinas Sports Complex this weekend as our three remaining teams take the field for the 8th Annual Monica Abbott Fall Classic! The schedule is posted and so is the team skills challenge information! Have fun ladies and GO MAVERICKS!

Another great showing for the Mavericks at the Harvest Hoedown! Congratulations to 10U Herro and 12U Gibbs on their 2nd place wins this weekend! And a special congratulations to 16U Cox, finishing their fall season with a 1st place win!

A heart felt shout out to the players and coaches for 10U Lucido, 14U Franklin, and 16U Cox who finished their fall seasons today. All three teams played their hearts out all season long and had great successes with each team bringing home some bling this year 🏆 We look forward to watching you girls take the fields in the future! And thank you coaches for everything you do for our young players! We couldn’t do it without volunteers like you!!

Another great tournament in the books for the Mavericks teams! There was some tough competition out there this weekend but our teams continued to battle the Mavericks way! And the costumes and pumpkins rocked! Congratulations to 10U Lucido for winning the 10U pumpkin contest! A special shout out and Congratulations to 10U Herro making it all the way to the Championship game and bringing home a honorable 2nd place! Great job ladies! Next up - Harvest Hoedown 11/2-11/3
