October is recognized nationally as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Started in 1989, October has been designated to mourn victims, celebrate survivors, and unite advocates in the fight against domestic abuse.

Domestic violence can happen in any community and affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or religion. Its impact often extends beyond the individual experiencing abuse, with lasting effects on everyone in the home, including children.

Wish to show support? Wear purple on October 15th to stand with victims, honor survivors, and help raise awareness about ending domestic violence. Together, we can support survivors and educate our communities 💜

With Death by Chocolate approaching, we are looking for chocolatiers who may be willing to donate specialty treats for our guests to sample and enjoy. This is a good opportunity to showcase your treats, connect with members of our community, and support a meaningful cause all at the same time.

Huge shout-out to King of Glory Lutheran Church for their day of service at Cherish yesterday! We thank you for volunteering and helping us kick-start the Cherish "store" for the youth!

Our friends up the road at Kids Talk, a fellow CAC, lost everything in the recent flood. Their donation page is attached if you want to help them rebuild!

Since the area's damaging floods last month, Kids Talk and its community neighbors continue to make progress. 🥰

In the last two weeks, Kids Talk has interviewed 58 children and testified in two jury trials with guilty verdicts.

The Kids Talk team is so grateful for all those partners who have offered everything from a helping hand to donating space, furnishings, food and money to help us continue to serve our children and families. 💗

We anticipate being back in our building in just a few weeks, which makes furniture a high priority. Our biggest needs are a new desk, chair and refrigerator.
