Participants will examine how perspective, energy, communication, and purpose intersect with their professional ethical obligations. AI in Workers’ Compensation: Practical Uses, Real Risks, and Guardrails for Claims Professionals

Artificial intelligence is quickly entering the workers’ compensation ecosystem — from claim summaries and medical record review to predictive analytics, workflow automation, and communication support. But AI is not a replacement for professional judgment, claim expertise, clinical reasoning, or legal review. This session will provide a practical, non-technical overview of AI for employers, adjusters, and nurse case managers. We will discuss what AI is, where it may be useful in workers’ compensation, where it can create risk, and how organizations can establish sensible guardrails before staff begin using these tools. Special attention will be given to hallucinations, privacy, sensitive claim information, human review, governance, and the importance of keeping the human in the loop.
