With funds raised at our 2024 and 2025 Carmel surfabout (sign ups, sponsorships, donations), the monterey county surfers foundation was able to make two contributions to two great local organizations.
A $2,000 donation was made to , a local nonprofit bringing the power of the ocean to East Salinas youth. The club unites first responders, lifeguards, healthcare workers, and community surfers to mentor kids from diverse, low-income backgrounds—introducing them to surfing, ocean safety, and the beauty of nature. Through these experiences, young students gain confidence, connection, and a sense of community pride that extends far beyond the shoreline
Separately a $2000.00 donation was made to a local youth mental health organization born in Carmel. AIM’s high school program, The AIM Ideas Lab is a youth-led research program that centers youth voices in discovering emerging mental health issues and advocating for solutions in their communities. AIM’s high school students design and lead their own mental health research and advocacy projects. The 2025 AIM Ideas Lab engaged 16 high schools and over 600 survey respondents in Monterey County.
