Carmel Fire Buffs Engine 1 Restoration Project

08/29/2026

The reason we brought her home and took on the journey of restoring her was simple: to preserve the history of the Carmel Fire Department and give her a place where future generations can see, appreciate, and remember where we came from.

Today, she had the opportunity to do just that at the Carmel Artomobilia Car Show — and we couldn’t be more proud to share that she took home Judges’ Choice! 🏆

A huge THANK YOU to the judges for recognizing her, and to the countless visitors who stopped by, admired her, asked questions, and snapped pictures. Every conversation and every photo helps keep her story — and the history of the Carmel Fire Department — alive.

What started as a fire engine found in a very different place has become a piece of Carmel history once again.

We are one very proud team! ❤️🚒

Here’s to preserving the past, honoring those who came before us, and keeping the history of the Carmel Fire Department alive for generations to come.

🚨 FLIGHT RESTRICTION NOTICE: NO DRONES OR AIRCRAFT 🚨

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have officially enacted a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) over the current operational area. This is restriction is currently active until 7 p.m.

⚠️ What you need to know:
- Zero Drone Zone: No individual or hobbyist drone flights are permitted within the restricted zone under any circumstances.
- All Aircraft Restricted: The airspace is strictly reserved for authorized emergency response and public safety operations.
- Safety First: Flying unauthorized drones in a TFR endangers emergency response crews and disrupts critical ground and air operations. Violations may result in federal fines or criminal charges.

We appreciate the community's full cooperation as emergency personnel carry out operations safely.

The Carmel Fire Auxiliary successfully hosted its annual Sip and Shop event in November, raising $2,425 in support of the Carmel Fire Buffs. Designed to bring the community together, the event celebrated and supported local vendors while also generating vital funds and increasing public awareness for the Carmel Fire Buffs and their mission.
