🎉 Today Friends Board Members along with True Rx Health Strategists had the privilege to present the City of Westfield - Government with the Active People Healthy Hamilton County Grant. This grant will support the launch of Westfield's Decorative Crosswalk initiative which will encourage active modes of transportation, including walking and biking, throughout the Park Street District and beyond. 🚶‍🏃‍♀️🚴

📍The first Decorative Crosswalk will be installed at the intersection of Park St. and Poplar St., perfectly situated between the Westfield Washington Public Library, a residential neighborhood, many popular restaurants, and a wide open green space perfect for a picnic!🌿

🤝 We look forward to the installation and are especially honored that the City of Westfield has chosen to include the Friends of Hamilton County Parks' logo in the crosswalk’s design—a visible reminder of our ongoing commitment to supporting projects that promote safety, connectivity, and active living throughout Hamilton County.🌳

🎉Welcome to the March installment of The Friends Park Tour featuring Tobi, a member of the Friends Board of Directors.

⛲️Tobi gives us a look at Flowing Well Park located on 116th St. in Carmel, just east of Gray Road.

🌳Flowing Well Park is owned and operated by Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation Department and is considered a local treasure! Fresh water flows from an artisan well, mistakenly discovered in 1904 while drilling for natural gas. 90 years later, it became first public park.

🌳 There are multiple walking paths etched into the forestry that surrounds Cool Creek, which flows right through the 15 acre park, so if you’re looking for a beautiful place to walk your dog or let your children explore the great outdoors, Flowing Well might be exactly the place for you. You’ll find a sheltered picnic area, clean public bathrooms, and plenty of parking so you can even invite your friends! Don’t forget to bring your reusable water jugs to fill up with the fresh water the artesian well has to offer.

💬Have a park you’d like us to tour? Let us know in the comments below and we will be sure to check it out on the next iteration of The Friends Park Tour.
