A really huge thank you to my dear friend Janet Stain from the UK! We got an amazing shipment from her recently full of beautiful new born baby clothes and washable diapers, baby quilts, blankets all knitted and hand sewn, and beautiful dresses for the children in our nutrition program and so much more. It’s really important for us to be able to give moms and their newborns fresh baby clothes as the newborn clothes here are usually in awful shape bought off the street and grungy or if new made with toxic cheap fabrics any many mothers don’t have anything for their newborns. Thank you Janet💜

Imagine doing a “Pregnancy Prevention” workshop at one of the local schools in our village and having hundreds of kids show up….it was AWESOME not just the GIRLS but BOYS too! We are doing on going workshops now at the many secondary schools in our in our area and surrounding villages as an addition to educating the youth as our girls program is at capacity and we really need to educate and reach more youth on reproductive health, pregnancy prevention, HIV, hygiene, gender equality and so much more.

For those of you asking about our adolescent girls program it’s still going strong! We had an afternoon workshop yesterday with the girls on “ envisioning their future” A question they most likely have never been asked outside of our classroom. Girls here often do not have the opportunity to dream or pursue an education….so much can get in the way. Poverty and the old belief system that a woman’s worth is with giving birth and having children is still high in existence here in Senegal. However there is a pathway to education here and many highly educated women with great careers. We mentor our girls on to that pathway! That is what our program is all about. Girls deserve an education, career and a stable future.💖💖💖
