๐Ÿ’œ Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.
We remember those whose lives have been lost to overdose and recognize the families, friends, and communities impacted by those losses. We also stand with individuals navigating substance use and recovery and recognize the importance of compassion, awareness, and access to support.

The impact of overdose extends beyond the individual, affecting families, friends, and entire communities. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma, encourages conversations about substance use and opioid use disorders, and connects people with resources and support.
Today and every day, we remember those we've lost, raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support recovery. ๐Ÿ’œ

- Community Health Workers and Peer Recovery Support Specialists can play an important role in that support. Through ASPIN's CHW/PRSS Dual Certification Training Program, we help prepare individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide recovery-focused support and connect people with needed resources.

At ASPIN, we're proud to be part of Indiana's CHW community by providing CHW certification training, continuing education, workforce development, and career pathways that prepare and support CHWs for this important work.
Most of all, we're proud to celebrate the many CHWs across Indiana who are using their knowledge, experience, and connection to their communities to make an impact every day.
