We at the VFW cant say thank you enough for the poeple that showed up today, regardless if you was cooking on a team, judging, helping put it on, the band, or just general public coming to eat a few bites of porksteak. Everyone seemed to have a great time from the feed back I was receiving all day. We was able to raise some money to help local Veterans and even make a few new friends.. so thank you all again! Hopefully we see you all at the next event we our on...until then God bless you all.

Well everyone, we are at 24 teams to see who has the best Porksteak in Carlyle! Come out tomorrow Saturday 5/30/26 to help decide who you think is the best.. we will be giving away a People's Choice award, and that is totally up to you all who wins it! Come out and support your favorite team and have a nice cold drink and listen to an amazing band in the process! Weather will be great as well.. People's Choice starts around 1:30p and the band will be jamming around 1p or so.

So we are just a week away from our first Porksteak throw down. There is still time to get in and see if you are the best around we have a solid 20 teams so far! Still have a little time to get in. Could also be a good practice run for the the Little Pig Cook-Off which is on July 11th. Here is our current list of teams. If I have missed someone please let me know! Seems to be shaping up to be a few brother throw downs for family bragging rights as well! Going to be a blast!

Hey everyone, we are needing some input. We are thinking about doing a Porksteak only comp on May 30th, non sanctioned event. If there is enough interest then we will roll with it. Please let us know if you would either cook or come sample that afternoon, we have a band already booked for the afternoon. We will make a decision on Thursday April 23 based on the interest we receive, please spread the word.

Its with a heavy heart to have to share this! Karen not only was an amazing woman to everyone that knew her but was absolute amazing mentor to me in the Auxiliary. She is a Past Lady's Auxiliary President for our post, and she will always be remembered for that smile, knowledge, and big heart that she shared with all of us. Rest easy Karen we have the gavel from here Madam Past President.

Any Auxiliary memebers or anyone else that would like to join us in a walk through Thursday Evening, we are meeting at the Carlyle VFW Post at 4:30p.
