Happy Independence Day and 250th, friends! 🇺🇸
As we celebrate Independence Day, it's crucial to reflect on the values that form the bedrock of our nation.
Some will use this day as an excuse to justify their spirit of complaining and attacking others they don't like, those they don't agree with.
Is that reflective of Unity or Division?
It's reflective of what's in the heart of those particular individuals.
*LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL*.
These aren't just words in our Pledge of Allegiance, but a profound commitment to ensure every person in our country is treated with dignity, respect, and equity.
Independence isn't just about breaking away from colonial rule centuries ago.
It's about an ongoing pursuit to ensure that every individual, regardless of their race, religion, gender, or socioeconomic status, can live free from oppression and enjoy the same rights as their fellow citizens.
RIGHTS, NOT RESULTS.
WHAT IS INDEPENDENCE, IF NOT OPENLY DECLARED?
True independence is when it isn't just announced, but lived.
It's when our voices declare our intent, and our actions follow our words to uphold the principles of LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
It's when we actively work to break down barriers, set aside differences, and act as ONE PEOPLE, UNITED UNDER OUR STAR SPANGLED BANNER on a journey to create a society where everyone has the inalienable rights of LIFE, LIBERTY, AND PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
The opportunity to make meaningful progress for self and family, without infringing on that same opportunity for others.
We have a responsibility to each other.
Our pursuit of liberty and justice doesn't end today.
It's a commitment we must uphold every day, striving to make the words "Liberty and Justice for All" a reality.
Happy Independence Day!
Let's celebrate our progress, remember our past, and look forward to a future where everyone can truly say they are free. 🗽🔔🇺🇲
