Our county's Extension home economics program is committed to providing information to help families

Our county's Extension home economics program is devoted to strengthening family life. In a rapidly changing world, the challenges facing individuals and families in our county are great. With the problem solving philosophy, we strive to develop programs to deal with complex issues facing local families. We work to improve consumer and family skills, while building leadership skills of citizens. We teach through group training sessions and, local programs and community projects. We are dedicated to solving community needs, concerns, and issues.

Our Family & Consumer Science Agent, Vonda Frost, is hosting a FREE Food Preservation Workshop Series! Classes will include water bath canning, fermentation, and dehydration.

The dehydration session will include a Christmas craft! Please call Vonda at 575-887-6595, if you have any questions. There is a limit to class size so be sure to sign up soon!

**Su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death in people ages 10-34...read that again.

**Su***de is the 10th highest leading cause of death in the U.S.

**Veterans face a 58% higher risk of su***de.

**The su***de rate for those who work in agriculture is 3.5 times higher than the general population.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out to a loved one, friend, or any person you feel comfortable talking to. Call or text 988 for help. Su***de is not the answer, you are needed here.
