Soldiers from the 2-506 Infantry Regiment, "White Currahee," joined our team for an unforgettable day of ziplining through the trees in Kingston Springs, Tennessee. Fast ziplines, great conversations, and plenty of adventure made for an incredible experience.

Area Director Richard E Davis spoke on the importance of resiliency and spiritual readiness, not only for individual soldiers but also for the families, teammates, and communities they serve. When service members are grounded in purpose, identity, and faith, they are better equipped to navigate challenges and positively impact those around them.

Faith in Jesus Christ provides a foundation that strengthens resilience, fosters hope, and equips warfighters and their families for whatever lies ahead.

A big thank you to the team at Adventureworks Zipline Forest and to Legends Smokehouse & Grill, LLC for partnering with us to create an incredible experience for these soldiers.

Rick sat down with Cheyne Jobbins, Southwest Regional Coordinator of Christian Surfers United States to talk about the partnership between CS and SSO, and their shared heart for reaching people with the gospel through community, adventure, and authentic relationships. Together, they discussed how something as simple as surfing, sharing a meal, and hearing someone’s testimony can open the door to conversations about faith and hope in Christ.

Cheyne also shared the mission of Christian Surfers and how they’re building gospel-centered communities for surfers around the world, along with some great stories from CS international outreach trips. He recounted powerful moments from SSO programs, watching service members connect in the surf and then respond deeply to messages about identity, purpose, and the hope found in Jesus.

Happy Flag Day! On this day in 1777, the flag of the United States was adopted by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

“We take the stars from heaven, the red from our mother country, separating it by white stripes, thus showing that we have separated from her, and the white stripes shall go down to posterity, representing our liberty.” - George Washington

The American flag helps us to never forget the values of our Republic, and the valor of the men and women in uniform who have defended it.

What a day on the Arkansas River!

Soul Survivor Outdoor had the privilege of hosting soldiers from the 68th Division Sustainment Support Battalion for an unforgettable whitewater rafting adventure through Browns Canyon National Monument. Between navigating rapids and building connections, the soldiers had an opportunity to step away from daily demands and invest in their resilience and spiritual readiness.

Guest speaker Craig Lambert shared powerful stories from his military service and personal life, and gave concrete examples about how his faith played a key role through multiple crises in his life both while wearing the uniform and since retiring from the Marine Corps. His message was simple but profound: when life's storms come, a firm foundation makes all the difference.

A special thank you to Chaplain John Anthony for helping make this event possible, our incredible partners at Noah's Ark Whitewater Rafting, and our amazing volunteers—Zac Mitchell, Jonathan Smith, Sheilagh Carpenter, Brock Carpenter, and Mairin Carpenter—for serving these soldiers so well.

Today in Colorado over 60 soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 77th Field Artillery Regiment participated in our resiliency and spiritual fitness program, tackling white water rafting with our team and the expert guides from Noah's Ark Whitewater Rafting.

Back on land, the group learned about resiliency and being prepared mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially to face life's challenges. Retired USMC LtCol Craig Lambert shared how his life had gotten off track as a young man, but everything changed when another Marine shared Christ with him. He spoke about how faith in Jesus Christ transformed the trajectory of his life.

He reminded the soldiers that true resilience is not found in our own strength, but in building our lives on the firm foundation of Christ. God created each of us for a relationship with Him, and our identity, purpose, and value are found in Jesus.

Thank you to SGT Tripp Robeson and Chaplain David Wurdeman for coordinating with our team.

BIg thanks to Noah's Ark lead guide Lauren Morgan and the entire crew for giving us a memorable day. And to our volunteers, Jonathan Smith, Zac Mitchell, and Craig Lambert, thank you for choosing to spend the day with us getting to know each of these warriors.

Our team is dedicated to the well-being of those who defend our nation. Every outdoor adventure provides an opportunity to give our active duty military a day away from the stressors of their duty station, where they take part in fun and challenging activities that take them out of their comfort zone. Through that shared experience, relationship begins and we are able to have open and honest discussions about God, identity and how having a firm faith foundation helps them to be better prepared for life's challenges.

After a program in Colorado, a U.S. Marine Corps recruiter gave us this feedback: "My experience with Soul Survivors Outdoors [sic] (SSO) was incredibly positive and impactful . . . They go beyond just physical support, also addressing mental and spiritual needs. SSO's dedication to the well-being of service members is truly commendable, making them a valuable resource for those who serve. The team in Colorado Springs were exceptional. They exceeded our Marines expectations."

Thank you all for supporting Team SSO!
