Carlsbad Literacy Program Director, Carolina Salazar, and RoseMaria Romero met with Heights Lions last week to discuss what the program is all about. We discussed the importance of letting the community know that the program is here to support them in Higher Education. There are 2 classes offered per week in the evenings to support those who want to improve their English, continued access to support in Basic Literacy, Computer Skills, High School Equivalency support, as well as support for those who need to prepare for their Citizenship test. The services are free to anyone in Eddy County. Attached is our continuing infographic series on Mayer's Multimedia principles. Mayer's Multimedia principles are a set of guidelines for creating multimedia learning experiences. They are based on cognitive learning theory of multimedia learning. When designing multimedia content, such as presentations, video, or online learning that combine images, video, and sound, use the principles to structure effective learning experiences.
