What a Day of Caring at CARC!
Last week, 24 volunteers from ExxonMobil Permian, Affirming Heart Victim Services, and the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad spent the day tackling projects across our campus as part of the United Way of Eddy County Day of Caring.
At our Child Development Center, volunteers painted a large and small outdoor chalkboard on the playground fences, creating new spaces for our children to draw and create. In our Activity Center, volunteers worked alongside our residents making greeting cards and pens and painting puzzles.
Other teams moved IT equipment between buildings and relocated files and boxes of paper to be scanned and securely shredded. Volunteers also continued the stripping and sanding of the large table we shared a few weeks ago, moving this ongoing project another step closer to completion.
In our Health Care Building, volunteers cleaned and organized a supply closet and storage building, making PPE, office supplies, and other materials easier for staff to find and use.
A huge thank you to United Way of Eddy County for coordinating this Day of Caring and bringing everyone together, and to ExxonMobil and the Boys & Girls Club for 24 sets of helping hands!
Thank you also to HTeaO Carlsbad for keeping everyone refreshed with tea and to Carlsbad Medical Center for providing lunch for our hardworking volunteers.
It truly took a community, and we are grateful to everyone who made today such a success! ❤️
