The Agua Hedionda Wetlands between El Camino Real and the edge of the lagoon is called "The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Ecological Reserve" is owned by the State of California and managed by the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.
It consists of 186 acres. There are no mitigaitions for fire or clearing underbrush. It is an Urbanized Preserve which does not allow human trespassing.

It is important to know that as of this month, instead of a 60ft barrier between homeowner property and the reserve, now it is 100ft.
