This month’s beach clean up just so happens to land on the day after my birthday so come celebrate with me doing something I’m super passionate about— keep our beaches clean, connecting with community & creating a positive impact 🌊

🗓️ Sunday, May 17th (10am)
📍Oceanside Harbor

We’ll be meeting at Joe’s Crab Shack (close to the free lot & parking) at 10am & walking to southside of the harbor from there!

Bring the fam. Bring the homies. Bring your presence cuz that’s the greatest gift of all!

Thought I’d introduce myself 👋🏽

Thank you for being here and all of you who have been a part of the past cleanups!

It’s been really cool to see the evolution of Mermaids Beach Cleanup…

What started off with just me— turned into doing them with 2 of my close friends to that expanding into a bigger group of friends to now collaborating with local businesses and meeting people through this platform! Excited to see how else it grows, even if it’s small.

I always say the littlest thing can make the biggest impact— even if that just means keeping our local beaches clean one month at a time, it’s still making a difference!

So excited for this! We’re teaming up with this week & hosting a community beach clean up in honor of Earth month 🌎

We’ll meet at Yoga on State in Carlsbad, walk to Grand Ave beach to do our clean up, & those who join us will be gifted a free class for ’s 12pm class afterwards.

It’s not only important to take care of Mama Earth, but our mind & body as well. The homes we’ll always have til the end of time 💚

Let us know in the comments how many you guessed correctly or the weirdest thing(s) you’ve found at a beach cleanup!

You were probably able to guess the most of these considering you can take a walk on the beach and find most of this stuff pretty regularly..

It’s sad but true 👎

That’s why joining a beach clean up is super helpful because it not only creates awareness but also helps eliminate trash from the places we love to enjoy most (& hopefully continue to enjoy throughout the years).

🗓️ Our next beach clean up will be March 22nd (Sunday) which is also World Water Day!

📍We’ll be meeting at moonlight beach in Encinitas at 9am down by the snack bar

🌊 Bring your swimsuit because we’ll be jumping in the water after our cleanup to celebrate World Water day!

🍴We’re also thinking about grabbing a bite to eat afterwards for those who want to join us (beach clean up & brunch?! Yes plz)

🚮 If you have a trash grabber bring it! We have a few (first come, first served) as well as gloves so we got you covered regardless

🤝 Bring whoever— the more the merrier! The bigger the crew— the bigger the impact!

🗣️ Spread the word! And feel free to bring anyone into this chat that you feel would love to be apart of our beach clean up in the future!

👀 Last but not least— every OTHER month, Mermaids Beach Cleanup does a collaboration with a small local business to support our fellow communities & businesses but also to give a little gift to those who attend because we appreciate you dedicating your time/energy to making a difference & being a part of our vision. What better way to start the day than getting outside, put your feet in the ocean, hang out with cool like minded people at the beach (maybe make new friends or a cool thing for you & your friends/loved ones to do), take care of our mama earth, & leaving feeling charged up because you know you made a difference…

Join us for our first collaboration community beach clean up!

We’re teaming up to talk about ocean awareness & why it’s important to keep our beaches clean 🌊

Those who attend will be getting a special discount on a surf lesson with Surfin Fire!

If you’ve been wanting to learn how to surf, improve your skills, or just connect with the local community & be of service— mark it on your calendar & share the stoke with someone else who would be down to join!
