There was not an Ode to Spring flight, but Pat Cloyd flew Saturday morning, so he was named the winner of Ode!!

Due to predictions of an inversion layer at 300 feet causing windy conditions, along with possible rain & muddy fields, the flights for Ode to Spring are cancelled.

We will have the meal at 6:00pm & the awards ceremony to follow, at the Sponsor building at the Classic field. Baked potato bar provided, bring salads & desserts.

BOI Ode to Spring
April 25, 2026

Morning flight:
5:45 a.m. Registration at the Balloon Field, Indianola, IA
6:00 a.m. Pilot briefing at the Sponsor Building

Evening flight:
5:00 p.m. Registration at the Balloon Field, Indianola
6:00 p.m. Pilot briefing at the Sponsor Building
6:15 p.m. Flight (weather permitting).

Information about weather & flight plans will be relayed via email and Facebook a day or two before Ode.

Dinner will be held at the National Balloon Classic Sponsor Building after the flight or at 6:00 p.m. if we have a morning flight. Donna Rieck is bringing the meal. Members are asked to bring a salad or dessert. After dining, the announcements of the annual club awards will be held.
