The Chris Thorpe Foundation

The Chris Thorpe Foundation This foundation was established to honor the memory of Christopher D. Thorpe and to provide financial assistance to individuals in the Carlisle area.

The Chris Thorpe Foundation was recently established to honor the memory of Christopher D. Thorpe (12/28/56-6/8/12). Chris was born in Carlisle and returned there after attending school in Massachusetts. In high school, he was an outstanding student and lettered in football and track. He completed a Search and Rescue course while attending Phillips Academy. As a college student, he studied Art His

tory and pursued photography, as well as taught himself to play the guitar. His life choices emulated an appreciation of being part of the community in which he lived and a strong value for learning. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to individuals in the Carlisle area. Scholarships will be awarded for ventures in education in music, art and experiential learning. The Board of the Foundation will review applications and make the final decisions regarding allocations of scholarships. It is our hope to promote the interests that Chris valued by supporting others who choose to follow a path of personal achievement and civil responsibility.
