Race Amity Day is about healing our divides (be they racial, religious, political, etc), and working together through amity and cooperation, and building friendships that strengthen our communities. We have a fantastic line up this year of music and poetry from local poets, youth, and a few professionals. We have Michael Ansara, Dana Meyer, Jaiden & Peyton Whitt-Burke; Nafeesa Hoda, Mariana Cadavid, Chris Brenne & Parul Varani, The Carlisle Music Studio String Ensemble; Plus Duaa Zahra & Reason Being. The Proclamation will be read by Travis Snell, as well as visits from Chief Sorrows of FD and Chief Amendola of the PD (hopefully, cross fingers!). We will also do a short tribute by Robin Chandler (who will also read poetry from her new book of poems) to William “Smitty” Smith, founder of NCRA and Race Amity as we know it today. The meat of the program will be between 1:15 and 3p.

Open hearts, change minds. Come join the fun!!
