Tot isn’t just any pig. She’s an 800-pound miracle who survived jumping from a transport truck as a tiny piglet. She fought for her lift and now she lives it fully. Rooting in the dirt, sunbathing, grunting for snacks and reminding us every day why sanctuary matters.

At Inner Light Sanctuary, we exist *because* of animals like Tot. Animals who were never meant to know freedom… but do now. Because people like you choose compassion.

A friend of mine is building a cat rescue. She’s been at it for a while, but one thing that always keeps coming up is the need for financial assistance. If you can, please donate. She has been doing such good work with her special needs cats and spaying/neutering ferals.

Today, with heavy hearts, we share that our beloved sheep Poppy has passed away.

Poppy came to the sanctuary with her sister T’Chella, and together they brought so much joy and some mischief into our lives. Poppy was always the more stoic than T’Chella. She was very gentle, observant, and always close by when you needed a moment of quiet comfort. As she aged, her steps grew slower, but her spirit never dimmed. She was always ready for a scratch. She remained the soft heart of our flock of many animals and loved by all who met her.

T’Chella is feeling the loss too. They were inseparable for so long and we’re giving her all the love and care she needs during this time. Sadly, T’Chella had been calling for Poppy a lot. Poppy spent her years surrounded by open fields, warm sun and a community of people like you that adored her. We are so grateful for the time we had with her and for those of you who supported her journey from rescue to rest.
