Patriotism through literacy!

Fifth-grade student, Kennedy Joseph, nominated Mrs.Passon's Social Studies classes to the Carleton VFW Auxiliary Post 4093 for her teaching of Patriotism in her lessons. As part of their Patriotism Through Literacy Program, Mrs. Passon was awarded three excellent books to use in her classrooms: Revolutionary War Heroes, Laws of the Land- What is Congress? and What is the Constitution in one book, and Ken Jennings Junior Genius Guides to U.S. Presidents. Kennedy's grandmother is a member of the Women's Auxiliary and was very excited when Kennedy submitted Mrs. Passon's name. Mrs. Passon is reading Revolutionary War Heroes first to use in her classroom next week! Mrs. Passon was thrilled to share this news with her father, Leo Esper, a member of the Carleton VFW Post.
