BACK TO SCHOOL TIPS:
According to the National Association of School Psychologists, there are things parents can do to help ease the transition from summer vacation mode to school mode. Before school starts, get your children back into a routine. Find locations within your home that will be designated as homework spots. Being prepared is the key. Both before the school year starts and once the year has begun, prepare meals in advance, be aware of what assignments are upcoming so that you can pace yourself, and have backpacks ready the night before the school day so that the transition to the new school year, and to each school day, is as smooth as possible. For the first few weeks, while easing into the new year, set aside extra time in the morning for all that needs to get done. It can take some time to adjust from being on vacation.
