Sonoran Arts League The Sonoran Arts League is a non-profit 501(c)(3), arts service organization dedicated to actively advancing art, artists, and art education.

Led by staff and volunteer-based organization located in Cave Creek and Carefree, Arizona, just north of Phoenix. Sonoran Arts League is a vibrant nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting visual arts, artists, and art education. Founded in 1975 by local artists in Cave Creek, we’ve grown into a creative community of 500+ members serving the Desert Foothills area. Our Gallery in Carefree feature

See you Thursday night for the opening reception of Inspire & Imagine: An Artistic Journey!

Join us on Thursday, June 18, from 4:00–7:00 PM as we celebrate the opening of the Sonoran Arts League Gallery’s new gallery space and newest exhibition.

Enjoy an inspiring evening of creativity, conversation, and community as you meet the artists, explore the exhibition, and enjoy light refreshments. The Awards Ceremony begins at 5:30 PM.

Congratulations to Jeanne Bonine, whose oil painting, Welcome to My World, will grace the cover of this year’s Hidden In The Hills (HITH) Artist Directory! Her beautiful floral painting features bright, delicate golden blossoms set against soft purple hues, creating a sense of warmth and serenity.
The 30th Annual Hidden In The Hills Artist Studio Tour takes place during the last two weekends of November: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Nov. 20–22 and Nov. 27–29. Coordinated by the nonprofit Sonoran Arts League, this year’s free, self-guided tour features 151 artists at 38 studios throughout Cave Creek, Carefree, and North Scottsdale.
Jeanne is a romantic realist who has been painting professionally for more than 60 years. A longtime member of the Sonoran Arts League and Hidden In The Hills studio host, she will welcome guests at Studio No. 15.

This week at the Sonoran Arts League Studio is full of creativity!

Our third week of Summer Art Camp, generously sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Carefree, is underway, bringing young artists together for another week of exploration and fun.

Cynthia Eral will be teaching at the Studio this week, and on Saturday, Gabriele Bitter will lead her popular Gelli Printing workshop. We also have several youth classes happening throughout the week.

Join us for our free Empty Bowls Community Clay Workshops and help create handmade ceramic bowls for the 2026 Empty Bowls Fundraiser benefiting the Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center.

Each bowl tells a story of compassion, community, and hope. The bowls created during these workshops will be donated and sold at the Empty Bowls event on November 14, helping raise funds to support local families facing food insecurity.

No experience is necessary—just bring your willingness to create and contribute. Whether you’re an experienced artist, curious beginner, or looking for a fun way to give back, there’s a place for you at the table.

Let’s come together as a community and turn clay into something powerful—one bowl, one meal, one neighbor at a time.

There’s something magical about transforming a block of soft clay into a piece that’s uniquely your own. If you’ve been curious about ceramics, this is the perfect place to start!

Join acclaimed ceramic artist David Bradley for a welcoming 4-week handbuilding series where you’ll learn the fundamentals of working with clay using pinch pots, coils, and slabs. Create functional and decorative pieces while exploring texture, surface design, and glazing techniques.

With more than five decades of experience, David brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and inspiration to every class. You’ll leave with new skills, handmade artwork, and a deeper appreciation for the art of clay.
