Happy National dog day to everyone!! We don't just rescue dogs here at SSARCG; we've also fed & watered the local wildlife for decades like this little fox looking down and laughing at the Shibes..... :-)

Celebrating the Bday of this sweet little boy "Ronin" today! The Connecticut Humane Society graciously released him to us last year (in lieu of euthanization) in a joint effort between his loving owners and Shiba Rescue of New England after an unfortunate bite incident. He is one of 3 Shibas we trust to go outside off-leash for potty, and he's always back at the front door within a minute. Very loving boy, and yet another Shibe that wouldnt be alive today if it weren't for all of you folks. Many thx & blessings to all..... :-)

We wanted to thank everyone for their well-wishes & prayers. Bob Papkin came thru his surgery with flying colors, and now has a new lease on life. He's a tough old bird, but a softie when it comes to rescuing dogs...... :-)

We'd like to ask everyone to keep our Intake Coordinator Bob Papkin in mind and wish him happy thoughts as he undergoes some surgery today. We've lost count of the number of dogs Bob has driven 500+ miles to save..... :-)

Belated 6th Bday wishes to this beautiful boy, "Mako the Magnificent". Most know the amazing story of the Justin Bass family in California saving him from being euthanized after a minor bite incident. They went to extraordinary lengths to save him; driving thousands of miles @ the cost of thousands of $$, and having multiple law enforcement agencies sign off on him. He's safely here at our Sanctuary, running freely this morning with his pal little Yoshi..... :-)

Celebrating "Little Jack" today, rescued from being euthanized in the Wichita Kansas Humane Society on 12/13/21. He's been a wonderful dog since the day he arrived, and we still remember him charming the flight attendants on the plane ride back to our Sanctuary. He also likes to survey his kingdom from high places..... :-)

During the brutal dog days of summer, we keep the pack calm and happy by sleeping outside with them. 70 dogs surrounding you really creates a lot of heat (and fur)....... :-)

We've rescued Koi from time to time over the years, and our chonky little gargoyle "Tank" likes to sit on the foot bridge between the two Koi ponds and guard them..... :-)

UPDATE: Here's the vicious killer in action (see additional vid LOL).... While SSARCG is breed-specific, on occasion we intervene when there's a dog that needs saving (and today is one of those days). This would have been this gorgeous Golden Retriever's last day on earth, due to a bite inflicted when he was grabbed by the scruff of the neck during an altercation with a cat. Pima Animal Care Center and a few followers alerted us to the situation, and we were safely able to pull him off death row and into a new happy home. Nothing better than a blessed Sunday..... :-)
