SSARCG is overjoyed & eternally grateful for the many folks around the world stepping up to help save this gorgeous girl "Alexa" from being euthanized in New York City last week. Her transformation at the gentle & experienced hand of the Tyler Durdin family has been nothing short of remarkable. As always, Adrienne Rowles & our donors are the engine that keep these wonderful dogs alive. Many thx & blessings to all ....... :-)

Always a bittersweet occasion when folks that clearly love their family member are forced to rehome him/her after a serious bite incident. Such was the case today, when Shawn & Christian Weadock of New Jersey delivered their stunning tricolor boy "Jaco" to us. As you can see, Jaco's already been accepted by the pack, who surrounded him in a warm Shiba greeting.... :-)

SSARCG is overjoyed to announce we were able to save two gorgeous tricolor Shibas from being euthanized on the East Coast today. "Jaco" is a hyper prey drive male who inflicted a serious bite on the owner's female roommate, while "Alexa" is a frightened little girl who ended up in NYACC after her original owner passed. Jaco arrives to our Sanctuary on Monday, while we are still working out details for Alexa. If anyone would like to help defray transportation costs, you will have our many thx & blessings as always.... :-) https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=X4UJQEYLYBP2E&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR3_VWQz5gJyj_R76RDIG9tEws1OPz-uTHXIDUu7-898UmLPktpGMcNLSjk_aem_4UaVzg8VAgmUsi7XGWTlkg

SSARCG is celebrating the 5th Bday of our little hellion "Rhaena" from the bay area, who received a brand new harness today as a present. Followers might recall she gave us a surprise litter of 4 puppies after a California gvt shelter sent us the un-altered "Maui" (conception accomplished in less than a week). A hyper prey-drive female, it's a thing of beauty to see her running at 20 MPH with Mako the Magnificent. She's come a long way, but is still full of p**s & vinegar..... :-)

SSARCG happily welcomed Leslie Malotky from Wisconsin to our Sanctuary yesterday. Leslie is in town watching 5 dogs for a vacationing friend in nearby Gilbert (including her own two gorgeous Shibas) , and was active in saving our pictured boy "Skittles" from NYACC several years ago. While 18 of our more reclusive & recalcitrant Shibes didnt join the party, she still got to pet the other 48 dogs after experiencing the typical rousing welcome. Many thx & blessings for all of our wonderful supporters worldwide.... :-)

Update: Libby has been pulled and rehomed; she got a ton of interest very quickly. Please stay tuned for more available Shiba developments......

SSARCG has been asked to intake this sweet little girl "Libby", who recently lost her home through no fault of her own. We're hoping to place her elsewhere, since she's not a biter. Currently housed at Pima Animal Care Center, inquiries can be made with them or us. She looks very sweet, and is frightened to death at the shelter. Many thx and blessings if you can help..... :-)

Here's an offbeat post from the past. Many years ago, I rescued an escaped Emu. He was quite salty, but I was finally able to calm him enough w my voice to guide him to safety. Shibas are much smaller, but also much faster & tougher..... :-)
