Today SSARCG welcomed this handsome fellow "Makoto", which means "Truth" in Japanese. Labeled a vicious dog and facing involuntary euthanization after a few bites on a toddler, we knew he was deserving of the chance to live his life. He demonstrated the normal tendencies we encounter upon intake, but immediately perked up and became docile upon arrival and the requisite Shiba pack greetings at our Sanctuary. Another happy ending...... :-)

Celebrating these two wonderful boys today: our beloved little black & tan "Austin" from San Francisco, and cremie "Bosco" from Illinois. Gentle little Austin was stolen in San Fran and recovered in San Diego before he came to us. We've been chonking Bosco up quite a bit (he loves his food, LOL). Both are awesome dogs that we absolutely adore...... :-)

In one day, Burnie has gone from extreme killer Cujo to lapdog. Amazingly, I didn't get bit once (probably because I smell like a dog). He gets along great w all the other doggies, and has really bonded w me for some reason. He had pretty severe food allergies upon arrival yesterday, but our hi-quality beef-based food is already clearing it up.... :-)

Burnie arrived from Hawaii today in a crate complete with a cute warning note for the baggage handlers (LOL). In a surly mood, he promptly snapped at me but quickly changed his demeanor after some opera music, my incessant soft conversation, and being changed into a harness for a nature run. He's now a happy camper..... :-)

SSARCG is preparing for the arrival of our first-ever Shiba from Hawaii, this attractive fellow named "Burnie". Typical story; he has bite history following the appearance of grandchildren in his home. We will make sure he is welcomed with open arms..... :-)

SSARCG experienced a horrific terrorist attack this morning, resulting in an innocent casualty. To add insult to injury, all 63 Shibes happily peed on the victim immediately following his messy demise. We are horrified, and memoriums can be made in the name of Mr. Charmin to the National Toilet Paper Institute of America..... :-)
