INVESTIGATION: The Escalation Trap

Yesterday, Joe Kent — the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, a veteran with 11 deployments, a Gold Star husband — resigned and said what no one in Washington will say:

"We started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. This was a lie."

Within hours, members of Congress called him antisemitic.

I spent three weeks following the money. Here's what I found:

The War You Can’t See: How the "Omni-Front" is Building a Digital Prison

If you’re staring at the heatmaps of the Strait of Hormuz on your terminal right now, you’re being played.

The legacy press is hyperventilating over "Operation Epic Fury"—the 15 separate fronts of the Middle East, the decapitation of the Iranian leadership, and the "necessary stabilization" of the Gulf. They want you to see a traditional war for territory and security.

They are lying. This isn't a war for land. This is a war for the Ledger.
We are witnessing the birth of a Post-Sovereign Empire. Under the cover of the most significant military escalation of the 21st century, the architects of global finance and Silicon Valley are installing a new Operating System for the human race. While the bombs fall in the physical world, the "Asset-Dollar" and the "AI Kill Chain" are enclosing the global economy in a digital cage.

For fifty years, the world ran on the Petrodollar. It was an analog arrangement: the Middle East sold oil in USD, and we provided the muscle. It was a system of circulation. But that system is dead, buried under $34 trillion in debt and the rise of the BRICS mBridge.
The replacement—the Asset-Dollar—is a system of enclosure.

As the Iran conflict spikes oil toward $110 a barrel and closes the shipping lanes, the Regulated Settlement Network (RSN)—recently piloted by the New York Fed and the "Big Four"—is being activated as the only "safe" rail left. This isn't just a digital bank account; it is a Tokenized Ledger where ownership is "programmable."

Look at the "Automated Reparations" logic currently being proposed for post-war Iran. The plan is simple: Iran can sell its oil, but only if that oil is tokenized on a Western-controlled ledger. The moment a refinery buys that tokenized crude, a smart contract—a line of code no human can override—instantly diverts 20% of the funds to the Treasury or the IMF for "debt service."

This is the end of national sovereignty. You don’t need to occupy a country when you own the digital rail their resources move on. By forcing distressed assets onto this ledger, the financial core is "garnishing" the planet's GDP before it ever reaches a sovereign bank.

The establishment is cracking. Fareed Zakaria told Anderson Cooper that Israel wants to destroy the Islamic Republic "in every sense." But even AIPAC and Netanyahu don't fully explain it. The real driver: the Tokenization Ledger. The U.S. is bombing or raiding 7 countries — Iran, Venezuela, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Syria, Iraq — plus the Cuba blockade ($7.5B/year in damage). Israel is operating in 8 theaters — Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Yemen, Qatar, plus Tunisian and Maltese waters. That's 15 combined theaters of war on 3 continents. Reuters just reported the most intense airstrikes of the entire war. Not one authorized by Congress.

The establishment is cracking. Fareed Zakaria told Anderson Cooper that Israel wants to destroy the Islamic Republic "in every sense." Joe Rogan told his audience the war "doesn't make any sense unless we're acting on someone else's interests — particularly Israel's" and that Trump supporters "feel betrayed." Senator Chris Murphy, after a 2-hour classified briefing today: "You deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are."

These aren't anti-war activists. This is the mainstream breaking ranks.

The human cost: 50,000+ killed in Gaza (the ICJ says it's plausibly genocide). 168 schoolgirls killed by US Tomahawks in Minab, Iran. 1,255 dead in Iran, 200 children. 700,000 displaced in Lebanon. "Black rain" — toxic hydrocarbons from burning oil fields — falling on Tehran. This is ecocide.

The mechanism: Netanyahu has pushed for war with Iran for 33+ years. Rubio admitted Israel was going to attack regardless. AIPAC has $100 million for 2026 races and bought the votes that killed the War Powers resolution.

But even that doesn't fully explain it. The real driver — the one thing that makes all the lies and distractions make sense — is the transition to asset dollars. The New Global Financial Operating System. A bet is being made that flirting with World War III will create enough chaos so elites can make trillions, not billions — privatize money, demonetize the dollar, work around regulations, and digitize the global financial system. The war is the cover story. The transition is the objective.

BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street, and Fidelity are the largest shareholders in every major defense contractor AND the banks building tokenized financial infrastructure. They don't just profit from war — they're building the architecture to make war permanent.

After 2008: zero. I ran for US Senate against Michael Bennet in 2016. I lobbied with CodePink and FCNL — the Quaker organization — to pressure Senator Bennet to support the Iran Nuclear Deal. The deal that could have prevented all of this. I worked with ex-CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou and developed the "History of Terrorism" curriculum for his International Affairs course at the University of Salamanca in Spain—the oldest university in Europe. I reported on the Aspen Institute's summer forums for the Aspen Times — covering AI with Walter Isaacson and Eric Schmidt, the Aspen Security Forum on Ukraine and US-China, and the Climate Solutions Summit. I've been arrested 7 times for civil disobedience.

I told Daniel Ellsberg in 2015 that political analysts don't understand how to follow the money. They don't understand budgets. The lies are the distraction. The money is the motive.

I need to tell you something. And I need you to actually read it, not scroll past.

On February 28, 2026, the United States started a war with Iran. No congressional vote. No authorization. No debate. Just bombs — nearly 2,000 targets struck across nine countries in the opening days.

In the first six days: 1,230 Iranians killed. Six American soldiers dead. And in a single airstrike on a girls' school: 180 children gone.

I've spent the last several days writing. Seventy-seven pages. 26,000 words. Not because I enjoy writing — because I've been watching this exact pattern my entire adult life, and I can't stay quiet anymore.

Here's what I mean by "pattern."

In 1964, the Gulf of Tonkin incident — a fabricated naval attack — launched the Vietnam War. 58,000 American soldiers died. Millions of Vietnamese. The fabrication wasn't proven until Daniel Ellsberg leaked the Pentagon Papers in 1971.

In 2003, we were told Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. They didn't. Over 4,500 American soldiers died. By some estimates, more than a million Iraqis. The lie was sold with PowerPoint presentations at the United Nations.

In 2026, the administration told us Iran posed an "imminent nuclear threat." Their own officials — in classified briefings — denied it. The Arms Control Association confirmed: no imminent threat existed. Senator Elizabeth Warren called it what it is: "A war based on lies."

I know this pattern because in May 2015, I spent 10 days at Daniel Ellsberg's home. Forty hours of interviews. He was the man who risked 115 years in prison to prove the government lied America into Vietnam. He told me — and I have every hour recorded — that covert foreign policy always works the same way. The stated reasons are never the real reasons.

He was talking about Iran.

Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz. Twenty percent of the world's entire oil supply passes through it. It's blocked. Oil heading to $150 a barrel. The day after the strikes, the administration requested $50 billion. The Doomsday Clock is at its closest point to midnight in history.

I've been arrested seven times. Anti-war protests. Healthcare. Climate. I was a two-term Eagle County Commissioner in Colorado. I founded SOS Outreach. I ran for U.S. Senate. I've sat in rooms with power. I know what it looks like when the fix is in.
