OUTlaw's Translegal Name Change & Gender Marker Project We provide free legal assistance to adult individuals in Jackson and Williamson (IL) counties who wish to legally change their name and/or gender marker.

We are a free legal clinic to assist adult transgender and genderqueer adults in Jackson County and Williamson County IL who wish to change their name and/or gender marker. If you live in Southern IL outside of these counties you may contact us for more information about the process and required documents.

We are located inside the SIU School of Law and meet by appointment only. You may contact us at any time during the year and we will let you know when our next intake session is for cases. NOTE: If you do not qualify for an indigent fee waiver, you will be responsible for court filing fees. We only provide free legal representation.
