This month marks the 40th anniversary of the first Scouting For Food, a tradition started in St. Louis that's now a Scouting staple across the country.

Since 1985, tens of millions of items have been donated by our community members to help feed those in need during the holiday season. And every year, millions more head to local food banks.

Scouting For Food represents what it means to be a Scout by coming together to elevate our communities through resourcefulness and compassion.

If you are interested in joining Scouts... The sign up for new scouts is this Thursday, tomorrow evening, September 8. Come any time between 5 and 7p.m. to the downtown Pavilion at 113 North Illinois Avenue, Carbondale. The Cub Scout program in Carbondale meets on Monday evenings when school at Parrish is in session that day. The Monday meetings run through early May, after which we continue with special outdoor activities throughout the summer months. Our annual calendar and more information will be available at the sign up.
