💜 DNAngels + Right to Know: Supporting the Whole Journey 💜
We are proud to announce our community partnership with Right to Know, an organization that shares our commitment to supporting people whose lives have been impacted by adoption, donor conception, DNA surprises, misattributed parentage, and unexpected discoveries about biological family.
At DNAngels, our expertise is in the science and the search. Our Search Angels and researchers use DNA evidence, genetic genealogy, family trees, historical records, and careful analysis to help people identify their biological parents and find answers to questions that may have existed for a lifetime.
But finding the answer isn't always the end of the journey.
Sometimes, it's the beginning of an entirely new one.
A DNA discovery can bring joy and relief, but it can also bring grief, confusion, anger, questions about identity, complicated family dynamics, or emotions someone simply wasn't expecting. We recognize that those needs deserve specialized support, too.
That's where Right to Know comes in.
Right to Know maintains a professional directory of therapists, coaches, and other professionals who have experience supporting people affected by these very specific circumstances. They also provide free support groups, one-on-one mentorship, educational resources, and connections to people with lived experience who understand just how complicated these discoveries can be.
This partnership allows each organization to focus on what it does best.
🧬 DNAngels focuses on the DNA, genealogy, research, science, and solutions.
💜 Right to Know provides resources for the emotional support, connection, and ongoing care that may be needed before, during, and after the answers arrive.
Going forward, DNAngels clients who tell us they would like additional emotional support will be connected with Right to Know and the resources available through their community.
We believe finding biological family should never be treated as simply solving a puzzle. There is a real person—and often an entire family—on the other side of every answer.
We are incredibly grateful to have Right to Know as a trusted community partner and to be able to offer another layer of support to the people we serve.
Because you deserve the truth. You deserve answers. And you deserve support for whatever comes next.
