Some of our nutrition students had the opportunity to volunteer at Camp BETA this past weekend! Camp BETA is a free camp run by Touch of Nature and SIH for kids with type 1 diabetes. It’s important for these kids to practice being more independent with managing their diabetes as well as to interact with kids like them so they know they aren’t alone. We had fun helping serve meals, participating in camp activities with the kids, and learning more about what it’s like to live with type 1 diabetes! ❤️
