This National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), we’re celebrating Christian, one of Ascendigo’s vocational learners gaining experience in the Blue Lake Preschool classroom. 💙

On a beautiful fall afternoon, Christian and the children posed together beneath a tree full of autumn color. Their photo is featured on this week’s teachers’ board, where families can vote for their favorite classroom photo.

We’re proud to partner with Blue Lake Preschool to create opportunities for learners like Christian to build skills and connections in their community. 🍂

🔎✨ Elliott is on the case!

Vocational Direct Support Professional (DSP) Elle and learner Elliott are currently taking on an interactive digital scavenger hunt and mystery game created by Walt Disney Imagineering, centered around the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.).

Following the reveal of a stolen artifact at D23, Disney’s ultimate fan event, a series of typewritten poems and riddles are being released online. Each clue points to a location at Disneyland and reveals a letter—and Elliott is leading the charge to solve them!

Riddle #2: The clue referenced a “grand circle tour” and a presidential car. Elliott immediately knew it was Lily Belle on the Disneyland Railroad—yielding the letter L!

As more clues are released, Elliott is putting his Disney knowledge, research skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to work to uncover the mystery.
And if you’re a Disney fan—or just love a good mystery—you can play along, too! The puzzles can be solved from home using online images and park maps.

Yesterday in Grand Junction, the "Ascendigo Alleygators" hit the lanes for Ascendigo's very first bowling team event! 🎳 🐊

We’ve been practicing every week for this Special Olympics Colorado - Western Region event, building our bowling skills and learning what it means to be good teammates: showing up, cheering each other on, and having fun together.

After bowling, we kept the team spirit going over a meal at Texas Roadhouse. We’re proud of this team and can’t wait to keep practicing and improving!

Our adult learners have been adventuring, growing, and thriving! 🌱🦙

From planting and growing their own vegetables to visiting Sopris Alpaca Farm, our learners are building skills and making meaningful connections through hands-on experiences.

At the farm, they got up close with the alpacas, helped feed them, learned about raising alpacas, discovered some fun facts, and even learned about different fleece types. At Carbondale Clay Center, they got their hands dirty creating pinch pots and exploring their creativity through clay.

Experiences like these create opportunities to explore interests, build confidence, practice life skills, and have fun along the way. 💚

We’re so grateful for community partners who help our learners experience all that the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer!
