⏰ 6:00 PM – Pre-game activities - Non-squad players will sign autographs and take photos with fans.

⏰ 7:50 PM – Halftime games - Mini fields will be set up on the Saluki soccer stadium for kids to play on.
⏰ 9:00 PM – End of game group photo & player autographs

🏈⚽ Fall Sports Update! Here’s what CJS families need to know as we get ready for the fall season:

🏈 Flag Football - Registration has been extended through August 30. Families will be contacted the week of August 31 with coach and team information. Games will begin the week of September 14. Questions about flag football? Contact [email protected].

⚽ Soccer - 1st Grade & Up: Families have been contacted with their team and coach information*. Practices begin this week (the week of August 24), and the first games will be played Saturday, September 12. The full game schedule for the season will be shared with families this week.
*Note - If you registered your child in the last 24 hours during late registration, we will contact you with your team info by tomorrow.

Pre-K & Kindergarten: These divisions will not have weeknight practices. Instead, teams will meet for one-hour sessions on Saturday mornings, beginning Saturday, September 12. Families will receive team, coach, and season information by Monday, August 31.

⚽ Reminder: Sign up for this Saturday’s referee training course! The deadline to register is tonight (Thursday) at midnight.

Becoming a referee is a great way to earn some extra money while supporting youth soccer in our community. If you’ve been thinking about giving it a try, now’s the time to sign up!

⚽ Become a certified soccer referee!

CJS is hosting the ISRC-Illinois Soccer Referee Committee for a First-Time Referee Course and field session:

📅 Saturday, August 22
⏰ 5:00–7:30 PM (registration begins at 4:30 PM)
📍 Superblock Recreational Complex in Carbondale
💲 Cost: $65

(Carbondale session is listed under first-time referee courses)

The course is designed for new referees and includes both online coursework and an in-person field session.

Participants who successfully complete the course will become U.S. Soccer-certified referees with a license valid through December 31, 2027. This certification allows referees to officiate in recreational leagues such as Carbondale Jr. Sports at a higher pay rate, as well as officiate in tournaments and club matches.
