We are so blessed to be able to continue providing pantry packs to Osage County residents. Our leadership team is currently in the works of trying to find another facility for the closet and food pantry. We are even debating on reopening the closet on West Hill temporarily, with whatever items remain there, until we can secure another space.

The building requires an incredible amount of work, and unfortunately we do not have the support required to complete that work.

Would you like to see the closet open on garage sale weekend so we can attempt to raise funds for another space and/or the repairs?

Good morning all!

We have had some questions regarding our operations.

Do we still help with food? YES!
We do something called "shop and drop," where we will get pantry packs made up and drop them off (or meet you) to get them to you :) we have done 4 this week and are happy to help with food needs!

Do we still have clothing? NO.

We do not have the closet anymore, unfortunately, as we did not have the support or financial resources to fix the building or maintain the building. This means we don't have clothing available and we do not have access to the building like we did before. We know this causes inconveniences, and we are deeply sorry for them. It is SO HARD to have to turn people away.

Help House and other organizations DO have clothing available to the community and we encourage you to reach out to them for CLOTHING needs.

To summarize:
Hope Against Hunger provides food assistance to community members in need,

We no longer provide clothing because we no longer have the building, and while we are looking diligently for another location, we don't have it right now.

If you know of a commercial space open, shoot us a message! Until then, we will continue to support the community in need through our Pantry pack program and our annual community holiday meals!

Due to circumstances out of our control, our board, CFO, and Executive Director have made the difficult decision to close the community closet effective immediately (1/4/2026).

We are unable to continue to operate the clothing closet from the current facility due to building conditions.

With that being said, we will continue to direct our resources to community food assistance and our annual community meals.

Any community members in need of food are encouraged to text the digits line 785-253-3853, email [email protected], or send us a Facebook message and we will ensure a pantry pack gets to you!

We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes, and want you all to know we appreciate your continued support and understanding as we navigate the potential of securing a new space in the next couple of years.

We look forward to continuing to serve you in 2026! :)

I heard a rumor that a certain Mr. Claus would be having lunch with us tomorrow and handing out toys to the kids!

Come join us tomorrow, Christmas eve at city hall from 12-3 for some holly jolly fun, food, and fellowship! Carbondale city hall!

Limit 1 toy per child, toys are for kiddos that come into the building- toys are not available for delivery.
