On World Sickle Cell Awareness Day, we raise awareness, advocate for equitable care and honor the strength of those living with this inherited blood disorder.

Hope is growing as new advancements in gene therapy are creating potentially curative treatment options for eligible patients, bringing us closer to a future without sickle cell disease.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated honors Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, as an historic moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, marking the true beginning of freedom for all.

We proudly recognize the efforts of our own trailblazing Soror, Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose unwavering advocacy helped make Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday in 2021.

Today, we celebrate emancipation, reflect on our ancestors’ strength and resilience, and recommit to the work of advancing justice, equity, and unity. Through education, action, and solidarity, we move closer to a world rooted in true freedom for all.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day!

Elder abuse is a serious global issue impacting millions of older adults every year. On this important day, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated stands united in raising awareness about the mistreatment and neglect of our elders.

We are committed to creating a world where our seniors are respected, valued, and protected. Let’s take action by:

The ladies of Delta Alpha Pi Zeta chapter will show up even when you don’t call, but they know you need them. The Health Affairs chair of Limestone County, AL NAACP was tasked with providing the health services at the Juneteenth event although she just underwent surgery. The strength of the sisterhood never fails. Her Sorority Sisters not only showed up, they brought a nurse that rendered blood pressure monitoring and blood sugar screening. What a wonderful experience at the Juneteenth celebration.

The Training for Mature Minds Foundation recognized Delta Alpha Pi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. as "Unsung Heroes" of Limestone County. It was truly an honor to share this award with so many unsung, unheard and unstoppable citizens of Limestone County. Zeta is a community-conscious, action-oriented organization, therefore it is our responsibility to continue the legacy of our Pearls. Our legacy is to serve to the highest degree and to do it in Finer Style. Thank you TMM Founders Jannifer and Gary Matthews, and Board members for this recoginition.

Delta Alpha Pi Zeta Chapter continues the mission of our Founders by providing scholarships for higher education. Our chapter supports STEM education, high school and college students. We proudly presented scholarships to graduates Kiara and Jurnee of Tanner High School.

May is Lupus Awareness Month, a time to "Make Lupus Visible" by educating the public on this chronic, often invisible autoimmune disease. With May 10th designated as World Lupus Day, efforts focus on supporting the 1.5 million Americans and 5 million people worldwide affected, promoting research, and fighting for a cure.
