Ruritan's purpose is to create a better understanding among people and through volunteer community service, making America's communities better places in which to live and work. Ruritan is a civic service organization with the purpose of creating a better understanding between people and, through volunteer community service, make America's communities a better place to live and work. Each Ruritan

Club surveys the needs of its community and then works to meet those needs. The Capon Bridge Ruritan has helped the Capon Bridge community and Hampshire County by supporting 4-H and FFA clubs, athletics, fire/EMS, community parks, the Hampshire County Schools Backpack Program, etc. as well as by providing youth scholarships. The Capon Bridge Ruritan is always welcoming new members. Come join us in serving our community. Ruritan is open to men and women of all ages. Teenagers can also join as part of Ruri-teen. Stop by any of our community events or club meetings or contact us a [email protected] for more information. Club meetings are held at 7:00 PM the first Thursday of every month at the Capon Bridge Community Center. Dinner is also served at each meeting.

13 Ruritans collected trash along Christian Church Rd and Cold Stream Rd for our biannual Adopt-A-Highway clean-up today. We collected 21 bags of trash! Thank you to our volunteers!

It was a fabulous evening last night serving our community at the April Community Dinner. Thank you to the middle school students who helped by setting up and decorating. Thank you to all of our Ruritan members who cooked, served, and cleaned. Thank you to our member Shannon Hockensmith for organizing, and thank you to Terry Ryan Bailes and her crew for bringing this to our community every month.
