Capon Bridge Community Center

Capon Bridge Community Center Teaming with the Senior Citizens group, the Capon Bridge Ruritans intend to continue operating the building as a Community Center as in the past.

The former Westminster Capon Bridge Presbyterian Church, built in 1891, was deeded to the Town in 1986 to serve as a Community and Senior Center, then deeded to the Capon Bridge Ruritan Club in 2011.

WVU’s Project REACH (Rural Education Alliance for Community Health) is hosting a Health Education Fair at the Capon Bridge Community Center on April 12th from noon to 4pm. Topics will include diabetes, vaccinations, and to***co cessation. Community members will have the chance to receive free physicals, oral cancer screenings and more! Music, children’s activities and interactive demonstrations will be provided throughout the event. We hope anyone in the area comes to check out this free event and take advantage of this whole health check up!

Our normal mid-March Yard Sale will be delayed until June due to the Bridge Buddies after school program meeting afternoons at the Community Center. Please do not drop off donated items for the sale until then. Thanks for your continued support of our activities.

Who is ready for a Yard Sale and Bake Goods (free-will donations will support Capon Bridge Community Activities)? If you raised your hand, then come out this Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm

If you have items to donate for our Yard Sale, please bring them on Thursday (2-6 pm) or Friday (2-6 pm). Please help keep our community center clean by not dropping items off at other times.

As usual the Yard Sale on Saturday was successful in raising money to support our community center operation. The Ruritan Chicken BBQ and Bake sales were also successful to support for our other community activities, and we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making them a success!
