Does your kid light up over fabric, thread, and texture instead of kickball and capture the flag? This camp is for them.
Sewing & Fiber Arts Camp is a week-long creative deep dive for young makers who crave something different. Campers will learn real skills — from machine and hand sewing to fiber arts techniques — while bringing their own ideas to life in a supportive, hands-on environment.
This isn't your typical day camp. It's built for kids whose passions go beyond the usual lineup — the ones who'd rather design, stitch, and create. Whether they're picking up a needle for the first time or already have a project drawer at home, they'll find their people here.

The City of Capitola is now inviting food truck vendors to apply to participate in this year’s Food Truck Friday series at Monterey Avenue Park!

Food Truck Friday is a fun, family-friendly community event featuring live music and a rotating selection of local food trucks. The 2026 event dates are:

May 8, June 12, July 10, and August 14, 2026
Time: 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Live Music: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Each event draws hundreds of attendees and provides a great opportunity to showcase your menu and connect with the Capitola community. Vendor selection is curated to ensure a diverse and balanced mix of offerings.

Flash stories contain all the elements of fiction and have the power of their longer cousins to transform the reader. Discover tried-and-true techniques, look at great examples, and free your creativity to write your own short pieces. This fun and motivating class will help you improve your storytelling skills. Each week students will write new pieces based on the topics covered and prompts designed to incite their creativity. Learn editing tips and opportunities for publishing polished works. ✨
