As horrific reports of sexual violence emerge, the region’s shattered healthcare infrastructure is struggling to provide survivors with even the most essential care. The world has witnessed these atrocities before. It must not stand by as they happen again.

Tigray is once again engulfed in a devastating war, placing millions of civilians at grave risk and threatening to deepen an already catastrophic humanitarian crisis.
We join 17 other Tigrayan organizations in demanding an immediate ceasefire, an end to the systemic siege, and a comprehensive political settlement that addresses the root causes of the conflict, guarantees the protection and rights of civilians, and establishes a credible path toward lasting peace, justice, and security.

Harambee Collective is outraged by and unequivocally condemns the Tigray High Court’s recent decision to overturn the convictions of the two men previously sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Zewdu Haftu, a young Tigrayan woman whose life was brutally taken on the streets of Mekelle 3 years ago.

We stand in unwavering solidarity with her family, women’s rights advocates, and civil society organizations across Tigray in demanding the immediate reversal of this unjust decision and the restoration of accountability for Zewdu’s killing.
