“Rooted in Community, Driven by Justice” The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) is an organization of primarily African - American law enforcement CEO's and command level officials who are committed to improving the quality of law enforcement service and creating meaningful partnerships with the communities they serve through training, professional competence and by personal example. The Washington Metropolitan Chapter (WMC) is one of NOBLE's largest and most active chapters with over 100 members from over 20 departments and agencies in the Washington, DC area.

On last week, WMC in partnership with Thomson Reuters, held the 5th annual Build-A-Bike event. Multiple local police departments, members & volunteers helped assemble over 50 bicycles to be distributed to youth in the communities they serve. This event was about so much more than assembling bicycles. It was about building relationships, strengthening partnerships, serving our community, and creating positive memories for the children we were privileged to serve. Every volunteer, every helping hand, and every word of encouragement made a difference.

WMC members participated in Plummer Elementary’s Back-to-School Event. WMC provided school supplies to the students and their families. We also took the opportunity for NOBLE WMC to engage with our young people and demonstrate our continued commitment to serving our community.

Please join us for the upcoming NOBLE Region II Conference on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the National Law Enforcement Museum, 444 E Street NW, Washington, DC 20001.

This year’s conference is especially meaningful as we celebrate 50 Years of NOBLE: Leadership, Service & Impact. It will be an excellent opportunity for us to come together as a chapter, connect with NOBLE members from across Region II, reflect on the organization’s history and impact, and participate in meaningful conversations about the future of NOBLE.

On last Friday members of the WMC attended the March on Washington:Defend the Vote.

The March on Washington: Defend the Vote, hosted by Rev. Al Sharpton, the National Action Network, and the Drum Major Institute, takes place on the 63rd anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington. We march because the work is not finished. We march to defend the vote because voting rights remain a critical part of our democracy, and the protections that generations fought, bled, and sacrificed for must continue to be safeguarded. We march to defend civil rights because access, opportunity, equality, and representation remain essential to our communities. We march for economic justice because too many families continue to face challenges related to fair wages, affordable housing, equal opportunity, and the ability to build generational wealth.

Day Two of the NOBLE 50th Annual Conference was filled with meaningful and memorable moments. Members of the Washington Metro Chapter proudly participated in the Annual Memorial March, Blessing of the Badge, Civil Rights Brunch, and concluded the day at the Women’s Symposium. It was an honor to take part in these historic events, reflecting on our legacy while reaffirming our commitment to service, leadership, and justice.
