On last Friday members of the WMC attended the March on Washington:Defend the Vote.

The March on Washington: Defend the Vote, hosted by Rev. Al Sharpton, the National Action Network, and the Drum Major Institute, takes place on the 63rd anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington. We march because the work is not finished. We march to defend the vote because voting rights remain a critical part of our democracy, and the protections that generations fought, bled, and sacrificed for must continue to be safeguarded. We march to defend civil rights because access, opportunity, equality, and representation remain essential to our communities. We march for economic justice because too many families continue to face challenges related to fair wages, affordable housing, equal opportunity, and the ability to build generational wealth.

Day Two of the NOBLE 50th Annual Conference was filled with meaningful and memorable moments. Members of the Washington Metro Chapter proudly participated in the Annual Memorial March, Blessing of the Badge, Civil Rights Brunch, and concluded the day at the Women’s Symposium. It was an honor to take part in these historic events, reflecting on our legacy while reaffirming our commitment to service, leadership, and justice.
