The numbers are in! The November Lion’s Club Breakfast and the food pantry raffle together brought in $2,089.35!

Government Shutdown Update:
Full November SNAP Benefits to be Issued in New York

On Friday, in accordance with a court order, The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance for states to provide full November SNAP benefits to the 42 million Americans who participate in the program. Then, the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily granted the request to block full SNAP food benefits during the government shutdown.

Despite this confusion at the federal level, New York has stepped up to provide benefits for SNAP participants. On Friday, Governor Hochul announced that full November SNAP benefits will be allocated to New Yorkers. The state will continue to roll out these benefits, according to an update on November 8th from the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. Families can expect to receive benefits as soon as today, Sunday November 9th, and issuances will continue on an accelerated schedule through the end of the week.

We are grateful for New York State's support in ensuring that 3 million New Yorkers will receive critical SNAP benefits to help them meet their needs.

It's that time of year! Cape Vincent Lion’s Club and Cape Vincent Food Pantry have partnered up again! This Sunday, November 9, starting at 8 o'clock, come to Cape Vincent Recreation Park (609 S James St) and enjoy breakfast and some early Christmas shopping. Lion’s Club is cooking up a delicious breakfast, while the food pantry has a Tricky Tray that we expect to have more than 50 items to bid on. Spread the word to enjoy and support your Cape Vincent community with us!
