One full week back! And students are already living out our vision: pursue God, love learning, value relationships, explore, serve, innovate.

Our teachers are in full swing of paying deep attention to each individual student to learn, "Who is this child? What is his/her ability level? What about interests?" That's because 18 years ago, God impressed on us: "Celebrate each one like I do." Like Russell says, we're on a treasure hunt — searching within each child to unlock the gifts God placed there. This is how education is meant to be.

Welcome back, Prodigy family. Year 18 starts now! 🎉

Eighteen years ago, Prodigy Leadership Academy started as a step of faith. Today, we watched a new class of students step onto our campus, and it's easy to see just how far God has brought us.

This year is special. In America, 18 is a coming-of-age year. Our school would be considered an adult now! This is a year where we get to look back at everything He's done, and lean forward into everything He's still going to do in and through our students.

We can't wait to see what this year has in store.

Before we jump into today... let's back up a week!

Our Prodigy Unity Retreat kicked off our 18th year with staff coming together after the summer to pray and and get ready for the coming year. Then Back to School Night gave us a chance to welcome families and students back to campus and into classrooms.

Both of these events were great ways to kick things off. But stick around, because today's about to get even better!

This summer, Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Missouri has its summer camp at Prodigy. Our first 10 years as a school were spent being hosted by a handful of gracious churches. We are so blessed that God has brought Prodigy to a place where we get to return the favor, in a small way, by sharing our campus. We couldn't be happier to play a small role in helping realize BGC's vision to "...ensure that the children in our community get the future that they deserve. A future filled with hopes, dreams, and no fear."

Exciting news for homeschooling families in the Cape Girardeau area!

This fall, Prodigy Leadership Academy is launching The Prodigy Bridge — a two-half-days-a-week enrichment program designed specifically for homeschool students in grades 1 through 8.

Bridge students come to our 32-acre campus on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, joining a dedicated group of Bridge peers for:

All-school worship
Spanish language instruction
Agriculture and outdoor learning
Creative arts and music
Physical education
Project-based learning
Lunch on the hill

Projected enrichment classes for the 2026-27 school year include agriculture, music, Spanish, art, physical education, and project-based learning.

You remain the primary educator at home. We are just part of your team.

When applying, select your child's grade with a "b" at the end to indicate Bridge enrollment. For example, a 3rd grader would select "B03."

We're so grateful to God to have completed our seventeenth year! We're grateful for every student, teacher, family member, and supporter who made such an amazing year possible. And finally, we're grateful for all of the seen and unseen ways that God worked in our students this year, forming them into young people who pursue Him, love learning, value relationships, explore, serve, and innovate. Part 1: Field Day!

I mean, just look at those faces! Our PTO never fails to put on an awesome field day. The students had a BLAST. It was such a joy seeing them compete in the various games and races, and then enjoy the rest of the fun that was set up for the afternoon.
