We are so proud of Addy Quigley and Journey VerVynck for winning 1st Place and a $1,000 prize at the Future Makers Market Youth Entrepreneurship Day at the Cape Riverfront Market! 🏆🐾

The competition, sponsored by the cape.riverfront.market, bankofmissouri, and sendafriendco, judged young entrepreneurs on the quality of their products, booth presentation, and customer engagement.

Inspired by their love of baking and volunteering at SEMO Pets, the girls started making homemade dog treats to help shelter dogs. Knowing shelters are always in need of treats and enrichment, they offered customers the option to donate treats to a shelter dog.

Thanks to the incredible support from the community, every dog at SEMO Pets received a special treat today! Watching the dogs enjoy their treats, wag their tails, and soak up extra love and cuddles made all of their hard work worthwhile. ❤️🐶

What started as a love for helping animals turned into a business with a purpose—making shelter dogs a little happier while they wait for their forever homes.

Thank you to everyone who supported and helped make this day so special!

This tall and hunky gentleman is Timmy Turtle! 🐢
Want to snuggle? Hike? Take a dip in the pool? He'll be there! And you'll never even hear him complain. 🤯

Timmy is:
💥 2.5 years old
💥 70 lbs
💥 Avid lover of all things toys (especially stuffies and tennis balls)
💥 ADORES meeting new people (and super excited when seeing his friends)
💥 Enjoys zooming and wrestling with other dogs (but needs to meet any that could be in his potential new home)

We have enough supplies to take care of kittens for quite a while we hope! You all are amazing!

Big thanks to our friends at Socials Cafe & Coffeehouse for donating the beautiful and delicious cupcakes for today! Not only are they amazing bakers, they are good humans who have a soft spot for kitties!🐈‍⬛❤️

The Savannah Georgia litter of kittens hosted the shower and enjoyed an afternoon of playing and romping! (Videos in comments) They are available for adoption!

🤔We asked attendees to give us name suggestions and we will definitely be using some of these!

This adorable goofball is currently accepting applications for his forever home. He is just at 1 year old and is a petite 33 pounds. You wouldn't think such a cuddly guy, lovingly called "Theo-dorable" by staff would be stuck at the shelter without a single meet and greet since arriving LAST YEAR in late December.

Yet little Theodore still waits for someone to say "he's the one" 🤞

🌼🐾 We are collecting items and to help get us through Kitten Season!🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈

We desperately need Purina KITTEN CHOW, CANNED KITTEN FOOD (we use Fancy Feast Kitten) and we need KITTEN POWDERED FORMULA! These items are available at most local pet stores/grocery stores, and you can drop off donations any time! You can also order from our Wish List and have your donation delivered to us!

🌜Tonight, Momma Beagle and her Beaglettes are settled into their foster home!🙌🏼

We can’t thank you enough for all of the support and kind words. We have had a really rough week, and this little family being dumped is only the tip of the iceberg.

Our week was full of neonatal kitten intakes (91 kittens in foster care, 97 cats/kittens on site), sick abandoned puppies, a tiny senior mom dog that had a puppy stuck and was septic and trying to die which resulted in an emergency c-section and saving one viable puppy, a dog that was seen being dumped from a van and left with a bag of food on the side of the road, a dog we had been trying to save his leg ended up requiring an amputation and more calls for help than we can ever provide for no matter how hard we try.

We are one place, trying our best to help as many as we can. We appreciate all of the sweet messages and offers of help from you. You have no idea how much it helps!

🩵🧡Special thanks to Amanda and her family for fostering the beagle family. We appreciate you so much!

🥰Thank you to our friend Raelenna for dropping off chips & salsa and the nicest thank you card for our staff today! When the guys at La Luna Mexican Restaurant heard she was bringing it to us, they told her they would donate it! So thank you to them as well!!

✅Several people have asked about donating needed supplies. We are in need of Purina puppy chow and kitten chow, kitten formula powder, toys/kongs, kitten hammocks and recovery collars.
