It Takes a Village Prenatal and Postpartum education and support for women and families in Southeast Missouri and surrounding areas. Community Rules:

Treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity, or parenting choices will not be tolerated.

3. Avoid off-limits subjects
We have a zero-to

lerance policy for comments on the following subjects, regardless of which side of the debate the comment is for. vaccines • abortion • politics

4. No advertising

It Takes a Village is partnering with the Missouri State Lactation Foundation to host a Breastfeeding Friendly Provider workshop!

Saturday, October 10 in Jackson at Heartland Chiropractic Center!

Registration will open Sept 5.

This training is for anyone who may work with a nursing mother in their business or practice.

Last week we celebrated a win that overall infant mortality rates are dropping, according to what the CDC released last month.
Sadly, there is still work to do. 💔

Racial disparities in maternal health specifically, are awful. As you can see from this graph, African American infants have the highest mortality rate in the US, and it slightly went UP. Overall, not a lot of change between 2023 and 2024. Let’s keep fighting for more accessible maternal health care. ❤️
