World Ocean Day is almost here, and what better way to celebrate than by joining a beach cleanup?

We have several cleanup opportunities coming up this month, and we're excited to get out on the beach with you! Every piece of litter removed helps protect marine life and keeps our coastline clean.

Do you enjoy finding cigarette butts in neighborhood parks, rivers, or streams? Recently volunteers tackled a clean-up at Emery Field Park in Kittery. They found over 200 cigarette butts concentrated in areas such as the parking lot and the benches by the play park. Do your part to and put your ci******es out and then put them in the garbage! If you enjoy time at a park or out on a walk, consider picking up cigarette butts and making sure they make it to the trash.

Join us on Thursday, April 30 at 3:00 PM at the Emery Field Parking Lot (2 Cole Street) for a community-wide clean up effort. Whether you can stay for a little or the whole time, every helping hand makes a difference!

🧹 What we’ll be doing:
• Collecting trash, pet waste, and cigarette butts
• Stenciling storm drains to raise awareness
• Helping protect our creeks and coastal waters
