Welcome to the Board, Hunt!

We are absolutely thrilled to formally announce that Hunt Grobert has officially joined the Cape Community Arena Group Board! Hunt will be stepping into the essential role of Ice Management, a position that ensures our outdoor rink remains a top-tier destination.

First, we must express our profound gratitude to our incredible friend and former board member, Jack Lombard. We are so thankful for his two years of dedicated leadership in this same role.

Hunt recently moved to Cape Elizabeth with his wife Kelly and their two rescue dogs, and brings an impressive background of leadership and organizational skills to our team. Professionally, he serves as Senior Manager of Information Security at Stoke Therapeutics, but he’s already made a big splash in our community. This past winter, Hunt wasn’t just watching—he was a participant in our Learn to Play pond hockey program and has been actively involved with the Cape Hockey Club. These experiences have given him a unique, firsthand perspective on how much the arena means to families and neighbors.

His commitment to our town doesn’t stop at the ice. Hunt also coaches the 7th grade boys lacrosse team, embodying his desire to give back to the community he is proud to call home. He shares our vision for the arena as a valuable winter destination and is especially excited about its incredible potential to grow into a multi-use, year-round venue for all to enjoy.

Please join us in giving Hunt a warm welcome to the Board of Directors and to the Cape Community Arena family!

đź“° Check out these key highlights from the April 6 Town Council meeting, as reported by Hanna Gilley for !

Town Council received a comprehensive update from Councilor Sahrbeck on the Cape Arena, and the numbers are impressive! This "community asset" hosted 13 diverse events, including the Cumberland County Winter Special Olympics, youth hockey, and women's pond hockey. The new, more efficient chiller has already led to a fantastic 30% reduction in electricity usage!

A sincere thank you to Councilor Sahrbeck for providing the Town Council with these detailed 25-26 Cape Arena metrics and utilization data. This information is invaluable for community planning and recognizing our local successes.

The Open Ice Foundation still has 4 full sets of hockey gear available thanks to our partnership with the NHLPA Goals & Dreams.

For some families, this gear is the difference between watching and playing.

🎉 Welcoming a New Rink Operations Lead to the Board! 🎉

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Kailee D’Angelo, who is joining the Cape Community Arena Group Board of Directors in the vital role of Rink Operations!

As we look to the future with Kailee, we also want to express our deepest gratitude to Maura Bisogni for her incredible two years of service in this role. Maura's dedication and hard work have laid a strong foundation, and we are so thankful for all she has done for our community efforts. Thank you, Maura!

Kailee, a local resident, lives right here in Cape Elizabeth with her husband, Michael, and their two young children. You might recognize her from her local work in primary care, or perhaps you've seen her family at the rink!

Over the past few years, Kailee has loved watching the Cape Community Arena grow from the sidelines. More recently, her connection to the rink became even more personal as her own children learned to skate at this very ice. We are so excited to have Kailee bring her passion for our community and her perspective as a local parent and professional to the board.

She is looking forward to spending more time closely involved to help support the community effort. We can't wait to work with you, Kailee!

Welcome to the team!

The puck stops here! ⛰️🏒

Seriously, did you know we found THIS many pucks out-of-bounds this season?

A massive shoutout to our incredible "Volunteer Reclamation Collection" team for their epic cleanup and sorting effort! These two proud junior volunteers helped curate our entire season’s worth of lost and found. Can you believe the size of that pyramid?
