Newly named for 2016, the Fine Craft Expo is an annual day-long event featuring multiple make-and-take workshops, demonstrations, and entertainment to introduce the public to the Southwest Florida Fine Craft Guild and the Cape Coral Arts Studio. The date of the next Expo is Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Cape Coral Arts Studio. The workshops are extremely affordable and allow
people the opportunity to experience fine crafts first hand, create works of art, and take them home that day! There will also be a raffle of fine craft artwork created by the talented members of the SWFL Fine Craft Guild! Tickets are inexpensive, and 100% of the proceeds benefit the Guild's scholarship program. We give scholarships and monetary awards to local art students in middle school, high school, and college to encourage them to pursue the arts as an integral part of their education. There will be a reception the night before, Friday, February 12, from 5-7 PM in conjunction with the Guild's exhibit "Elemental Art: Wind, Fire, Earth, and Water". The Guild's gifted artists will present artwork in the media of clay, glass, wood, metal, stone, fiber, jewelry, mixed media, sculpture, and photography. EXPO workshop teachers will be on hand to explain their classes, and to show examples of the work that will be created. Libations and refreshments will be served.
