AMERICA'S BOATING CLUB OF CAPE CORAL
Located in sunny southwest Florida, America’s Boating Club of Cape Coral, a.k.a. Cape Coral Sail and Power Squadron, helps members gain maximum enjoyment from boating. Our excellent educational offerings target both beginning and advanced level boaters, helping them build knowledge, technical skills and confidence at the helm, thus inc
reasing fun and enjoyment on the water. Learners begin with America’s Boating Course, then progress through Boat Handling, On-the-water Training, Piloting, Navigation and Engine Maintenance. They may also enjoy short seminars on such topics as navigating with charts, tying knots, being a good mate, or using flares and fire extinguishers. Our members also enjoy the social aspects of boating. They develop camaraderie in small groups, such as the kayak group, weekend boaters group and cruise and rendezvous group, which schedule on-the-water outings each month to nearby parks, marinas and restaurants. Beside providing social opportunities for members, these outings assist new boaters in learning local waters, practicing new skills and making new friends. New and experienced fishermen meet every month in our fishing group to get tips from local guides about useful equipment and techniques, and learn local secrets about what fish are biting and where to find them. Outside the small groups, members also enjoy club-sponsored dinners and parties. America’s Boating Club of Cape Coral also provides several services to the community. We offer free vessel safety checks for boaters to help them properly equip their boats for safe operation, enabling them to pass inspection by local authorities. Our co-op charting group assists local agencies to ensure that markers and buoys are in their proper place and fully functional, and provides valuable information for chart writers regarding water depths and bridge clearances, which can change over time. Our amateur radio station is available to aid in communication during local disaster situations. The Sea Scout program guides middle- and high-school youth in learning to boat and sail, safely and competently. As an added bonus, our building is available to rent. We have a reasonably-priced 2,100 square foot ballroom which will accommodate 160 people for parties, dinners or dances. We also have three classrooms and a conference room available for meetings or classes. For information about room availability and rental rates, contact the office at 239-549-9754.
